Lake Walk
easy
Our go-to walk and a great one to start with. Cherington Pond is a beautiful, peaceful lake in a secluded valley — often described as a hidden jewel of the Cotswolds.
The route
A gentle flat loop around the pond and through the surrounding woodland. The path is easy to follow and suitable for all abilities.
What to look out for
- Wildlife — the pond is home to swans, tufted ducks, and mallards. Bring binoculars if you have them
- Otters — if you’re lucky, you might catch otters playing in the water
- Snowdrops — in February and March the woodland is carpeted with snowdrops. It’s stunning
Good to know
- Flat and accessible — a good option if you want something gentle
- A shallow stream from the pond is crossed by a small bridge
- Quiet and peaceful — you’ll often have the place to yourself
